Hi, I’m Liz!
I’ve been freelancing as a side hustle since I entered the workforce almost 20 years ago writing for Welding and Gases Today. Today, it’s my full-time gig.
My day jobs have ranged from traditional communication roles to wearing about a hundred hats in higher education. I’ve been a PR account executive, digital content editor, and early in my career I held my favorite title: “director of first impressions” (receptionist).
When I got burned out from PR, I went back to school to get my master’s and worked as a professional writing tutor, academic advisor, and adjunct writing instructor.
For a decade, I oversaw student support services, working closely with students, faculty, and college administration. Most recently, I supervised a team of 8 editors as a content manager at a tech SEO company.
My freelance work
usually centers around higher education clients, but I’m up for anything. I write and edit website copy, write end-of-year donor reports, proofread awards and certificates for annual award ceremonies, write and edit university grant applications, proof dissertations, edit Middle States accreditation reports. I’m an AP Style pro, and a believer in the Oxford comma, but we can still work together if you feel otherwise.
Creatively, I write essays about my life. I’m currently working on a narrative nonfiction book that mixes memoir and researched elements about women’s health.
In life, I’m a marathon runner. Mom to Felix. Wife to Tom. And a lifelong fan of BravoTV.
